Steve Milton

Steve Milton was the former world record-holder for having created the largest rubber band ball. Completed in 2006, his creation weighs 4,600 lb (2,100 kg), is 19 ft (5.8 m) in circumference, and contains over 175,000 rubber bands.[1] When he completed it with sponsorship from OfficeMax, Milton broke the previous record of the largest one set by John Bain, who had created a rubber band ball of 3,120 lb (1,420 kg) in the year 1999.[2]

Biography

Steven Milton was born in 1973 in Edinburgh. He attended Tyncastle High School until 1989. After that he went on to work in the Royal Overseas League on Princess Street. He worked there for 11 years before leaving and working as a chef at a nursing home at Portobello.
